Nobody Loves the Naked Truth

living in a box?
Everybody wants to hear the truth and everybody values honesty. But sometimes that just isn’t the case.
A girl tells her guy she doesn’t love him anymore. What does the guy want to do? Kiss the girl?
Cry, punch at anybody who nears a 50-mile radius? Most probably. Parent’s hearing their 15-year old baby girl is going to be a mommy and their going to become grandma and grandpa? Not a good picture. Mom would probably end up hysterical or crying and Dad would probably leave the house with a shotgun at hand.

Nobody really loves the naked truth especially if it cuts deep. A woman wouldn’t want to hear her boyfriend tells her he loves someone else, or hear she has a friend who is betraying her. She’d like to think that everything is just a bad dream and pretend that everything is fine. The truth brings shame, indignity, rejection, pain, anger, sufferings and etc.

That’s why most of us prefer to live in a state of denial. Man has this basic instinct of staying away from pain as much as possible that’s why we tend to gravitate to less painful situations. But we know that running away from the truth isn’t at all healthy because no matter how hard we hide the truth in one way or another catch up with us. Nobody loves the naked truth, but “the truth shall set man free”. A murderer hides from the authorities and lives a fugitive life. Hey may be outside the bars but he really isn’t a free man in the truest sense. Better to face the truth that you killed someone than to hide forever. The truth may not be pretty at time, but it is always the best choice because after everything else, one moves on and learns to forgive.
