How to have a Lasting Relationship
Relationship is always a two-way process. A lot of factors comprise it for it to be called a successful one. Trust, respect and put God as the center of it are the foundations. Before committing to another person, be sure that you are ready enough. You will be encountering a lot of changes in your life as you enter into this kind of relationship. You must learn to adjust and embrace the new life you chose with having a partner.
During the first stage of the relationship, everything goes well. You can feel the magic within you. You see your partner as the perfect and ideal one for you. But as the relationship goes on for quite a while, often you tend to forget how to accept each other’s differences. There comes a point wherein you started questioning whether your partner is the one really destined for you. Remember that each of us has unique qualities. We have our own set of strengths as well as weaknesses, so don’t expect your partner to be perfect as there is no one possesses that character. To make your relationship a healthy one, you must be willing to adjust and accept your partner without any conditions at all.
As you go along, you’ll experience the rocky roads of the relationship. Put in mind that you both must survive them and must not easily give up. The two of you must work hard and if necessary, put extra effort to stay together. If you survived any obstacles that come in your relationship, you will surely surpass any that will come on your way in the future. What is important is that you will learn from any mistakes that you have made and be able to mature. Treat your partner as your best friend. The important aspect in a relationship is having the principle of wanting to grow old together and let any differences or problems in the past be forgotten. Learn to forgive each other’s shortcomings. Learn to be committed and be responsible enough when you are. If you can’t achieve all these things-being mature and willing to adjust-it is about time to discuss the issue between the two of you. Bring up the discussion as to where the relationship is right now, what is the real score? If you can’t come up a way to mend every aspects that are starting to ruin, better move on.
Once you enter in a relationship, you must be prepared. This time, it is not always you who is the concern of every issue; it is the TWO of YOU. You must realize that it takes one to tango and it takes an effort from each of you to make it work. You are both part of the relationship so make the most out of it. Make it as happy as it can be and live the passion alive. Building a healthy relationship relies on the two of you, not on anyone else. Always include God in your plans and be aware of your duty to your partner.
